Altaf concerned over electricity, wheat crisis

Expressing concern over wheat flour and power crisis in the country the founder and leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has demanded the government to take steps for mitigation of the situation. In a statement issued here on Saturday, he appealed the government to take steps in stopping smuggling and wheat hoarding.
Altaf Hussain appealed to President Pervez Musharraf, interim Prime Minster Mohammed-mian Soomro, interim Federal Cabinet, four Governors, Chief Ministers and Provincial Ministers to take emergent steps in this regard. Altaf Hussain also appealed to wheat and flour traders and millers to have mercy on common people and play their role in this regard. He also appealed to his party workers and local government representatives to play their role in ensuring availability of wheat flour and bringing down its price.
