24 killed, 40 injured in accidents

At least 24 persons were killed and 40 injured in four separate road accidents at different places in Punjab province. A passenger coach collided with a trailer near Shahwali area of Rajanpur district, leaving 13 persons dead and 20 wounded.
Police told that the passenger coach heading from Peshawar to Karachi, while overtaking a truck on Indus Highway near Shahwali clashed with a parked trailer, which resulted the death of 12 persons including a woman and a child, while 20 persons were wounded. DPO Rajanpur Azhar Hameed Khokhar told "this accident occurred due to reckless driving and fog." Police and Rangers have shifted the bodies and the injured to Kashmore Taluka Hospital, while ten of them being in critical condition were sent to Sheikh Zaid bin Sultan hospital Rahimyar Khan.
PPI adds: Four persons were killed and 10 others sustained injuries in a collision between a bus and an oil tanker on Multan, Muzaffargarh road on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, four persons of a family were killed in a road accident at GT road near Patoki on Sunday. In another accident near Pindi Bhattian three persons including two officers of Highway Department and driver were burnt alive when their jeep caught fire after it overturned.
