Estate office seeks two floors in Shaheed-e-Millat secretariat

The Estate Office building, which was completely gutted during disturbance in the area, has sought permission for two floors in Shaheed-i-Millat Secretariat to ensure smooth functioning.
Talking to APP, Joint Estate Officer Shahid Aleem said that a summery about seeking two floors in Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat has been put forward by the Ministry of Housing and Works to the Prime Minister Secretariat for approval.
He said that after permission the Estate Office would be shifted from the existing building to new place.
He said that besides, structural damages, almost all the equipment and record of the office has been reduced to ashes.
Shahid Aleem said that the office should be shifted to some other place immediately as both the officials and public were facing problems due to non existence of the facilities and the official work was also being delayed.
He said that hundreds of government employees daily visit the Estate Office and due to lack of proper arrangements, they have to face many problems.
The Estate Office suffered a total loss of Rs 19.7 million he added. Some of the damaged record has been retrieved while they are working to recover rest of the record, he said.
The portion of record concerning housing facilities for the federal retired employees remained safe, he added. He said as a precautionary measure a portion of record was also kept in the ministry of housing.
