Light rain breaks long dry spell

Light drizzle brought by the north- easterly system here on Sunday turned the weather cool and chilly, compelling people to wear additional warm clothes.
The thick clouds, which are hovering since Saturday night, has suddenly burst and yielded 2 mm rain in the city by bringing the maximum temperature down to 5 Celsius, the Met office reported. It also predicated more rain in next 24 hours with chances of thunderstorm in some parts of NWFP.
The people of walled city heaved a sigh of relief over this change as it would help control diseases occurred due to growing pollution and have far reaching effects on the agriculture and wheat crops mostly in rainy areas and southern districts of NWFP. The Met official informed that minimum temperature was recorded, as 5 degree Celsius while the maximum level was 13.
