Entry of 45 Ulema banned

The Punjab government has banned the entry of 45 religious Ulema to Multan district and gagged the 50 clerics to maintain law and order during Muharram.
According to a notification issued by Punjab Home Department on Tuesday, 45 religious scholars of different schools of thought, including Maulana Masood Azhar of Bahawalpur, Maulana Ali Sher Haidery of Khairpur Sindh, Maulana Munawar Hussain of Bahawalpur and Allama Sajid Hassan Naqvi were banned to enter the district during the month of Muharram.
On the directives of the Punjab Home Department, the district government has ordered that Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Jhangvi, Maulana Allah Yar Arshad, Maulana Alam Tariq and other 16 religious scholars will not deliver speeches in Muharram.
