4.5kg heroin seized at Torkham

The political authorities of Khyber Agency seized 4.5-kilogram of fine quality heroin from a handcart vendor concealed in washing powder bags at Torkham, Pak-Afghan border, an official said on Tuesday.
The authorities during routine checking at the border intercepted a vendor cart apparently loaded with washing powder bags and an ailing woman boarding the same.
During the search, 4.5-kilogram heroin was recovered from the washing powder bags and arrested the accused in this connection. The estimated cost of the contraband is stated to be in millions of rupees in the international market.
