Criminals' gang busted

Sadar Division police have busted a gang of criminals involved in a number of incidents of dacoity and robbery. Police arrested its four members and seized looted property worth rupees 10 million as well as illegal weapons from them.
The dacoits looted this property during two dacoity incidents in Muslim Town area in November 2007. As per details, Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal directed DIG Investigation Tassaduq Hussain to take affective measures against criminals gangs operating in Sadar Division and a special team was constituted headed by SP Investigation Sadar Division Jahanzaib Nazir Khan comprising SPO and Incharge Investigation Muslim Town, which collected the particulars of Dastaghir gang and arrested its four members on at tip-off.
The police team recovered almost all the looted booty from their possession including 247 tolas of jewellery worth rupees 5.1 million, two cars, cameras, cell phones, television, prize bonds, four pistols and bullets.
The culprits were identified as ringleader Ghulam Dastaghir, Zeeshan, Salman Khan and Ashraf. A special team has also been constituted for the arrest of remaining members of the said gang. Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police raiding team.
