Rising prices

Unusual increase in the prices of essential commodities and items are not very new in the absence of proper check and balance by the concerned authorities.
One question emerges in the mind that why the government did not assess the situation before exporting any commodity. Firstly it allows exports of items or any commodity, which cause artificial shortage and steep rise in the prices. Secondly to overcome the hue and cry over the shortage, the government started beating the drums for imports to meet the local demand. Is it not very surprising that before examining the situation the government allows the concerned departments to import commodities.
