Meezan Bank has achieved yet another milestone by successfully establishing 100 branches spread over 31 major cities across Pakistan within a short span of 5 years. This growth in branch network is the fastest in the Banking history of Pakistan.
The investment in the branch network is driven by the Bank's vision that is to "establish Islamic Banking as the Banking of First Choice" so as to enable it to reach out to each and every citizen of Pakistan.
There are currently six dedicated Islamic Banks operating in Pakistan with a total of 170 branches, Meezan Bank's share of branch network is now 59 per cent of the total, making it the largest Islamic Bank operating in Pakistan by a significant margin.
President & CEO Meezan Bank Ltd Irfan Siddique in a statement said that Meezan Bank is the largest Islamic bank in the country with 100 branches in 31 cities. He also said that Meezan Bank stands 17th largest bank among a club of 40 banks in Pakistan.
He said that Meezan bank would continue to expand its branch network in 2008 with the addition of 50 more branches thus establishing a network of 150 branches across Pakistan by the end of 2008.-PR
