Writers, poets, intellectuals and columnists of Sindh at a meeting here on Monday paid rich tributes to slain PPP chairperson and former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto.
The meeting was organised by Sindh Democratic Forum (SDF) here to discuss the political and social unrest in Pakistan, especially in Sindh, in aftermath of the tragic assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
A resolution adopted by the meeting termed the incidents of burning down every thing in sight in the country especially in Sindh following the killing of Benazir Bhutto 'a spontaneous reaction of the masses' against a government led by the military.
"It was also a revolt against the policies followed by successive military governments, who have first created extremist by their reckless policies and are now waging a fake war against the same Jihadis in the name of war on terror,' it added.
Terming extremist and the regime two sides of a coin, the resolution said that their prime target was democracy, constitution and rule of law and a progressive civil society including judiciary and media, who are an impediment to their authoritarian and dictatorial rule.
