'Government committed to hold transparent elections'

Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology Dr Abdullah Riar has said the mandate of the caretaker government stands very clear, to hold free, fair and transparent elections. Talking to CNBC, he caretaker government, he said, endeavoured to ensure that the nation witnesses an election in an atmosphere that the winner would enjoy victory and the loser accepts the defeat.
He further urged that government and people of Pakistan to face the major challenge of international terrorism posed in current era to the global community. It's challenge for our stability. "Pakistan is facing the menace of international terrorism. The terrorists not only have taken thousands of innocent lives, but they have also assassinated PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto, which is a national loss", he said.
The recent attack at Lahore has further strengthened the resolve of the government and the people of Pakistan to fight terrorism in its all forms and manifestations. Pakistan government and its people in the fight against the menace of terrorism. "Our focus will be to hold a transparent, impartial election.
He said, it would be his endeavour to bring about improvement in the human rights situation, particularly in view of the prevailing situation. Inspite of criticising others, he said, one should fulfil his responsibility and play role in the development of country.
