Secretary Livestock Punjab, Babar Yaqub Fateh Muhammad, has directed the officers of livestock and dairy development department to ensure in time utilisation of development budget allocated for the current fiscal year. He said this while chairing a meeting convened to review quarterly spending of annual budget of the year.
The secretary was informed that the department had spent 52.70 percent of the annual development programme (ADP) and remaining budget would be utilised by the end of current financial year.
Babar Yaqub Fateh Muhammad asked the officers of the department to design development budget, new projects and budget estimates for the year 2008-09 keeping in view the requirements of livestock farmers.
The meting expressed its satisfaction over progress of ongoing projects and the secretary asked the officers to ensure availability of funds to livestock farmers by removing all the impediments so that farmers could take full advantage of projects. The meeting was also attended by the Director General (Extension) Sajjad Zaheer Malik, Director General (Research), Deputy Secretary Planning and Directors of different wings of the department.
