Fire breaks out in cotton godown

A fire broke out in a warehouse storing cotton due to short circuit within the jurisdiction of SITE police station on Tuesday. Cheepa sources said that nobody was reported hurt in this incident. The watchman of the warehouse first informed the fire brigade about the fire.
Taking immediate action on receiving information, two fire tenders were dispatched to the fire site, official in fire brigade department told Business Recorder.
However before fire tenders could reach the scene the fire had already completely engulfed the warehouse, the official said. Four more fire tenders were called to handle the blaze. After hectic efforts of many hours the fire was brought under control, he said. As per his estimate 90 per cent of the goods stored in the warehouse was completely gutted.
