Pesco asks consumers to conserve electricity

Chief Executive of Peshawar electric supply corporation (Pesco), Brigadier Sakhi Marjan, has asked the public to conserve electricity in a bid to overcome energy crisis.
In a press release issued here on Tuesday, Pesco reiterated its appeal to its consumers to extend their cooperation and stop unnecessary and illegal use of electricity.
In order to continue uninterruptible power supply, the consumers should adopt following proposals so that they may not face inconvenience, he added. He said that the current energy crisis could be overcome only with the help of consumers, otherwise the gape between supply and demand would be further increased in the days to come.
Pesco is taking all possible steps to overcome the energy crisis, however, pubic is requested, to conserve energy by means of less consumption especially during the peak hours from 06:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
Pesco has also requested the industrial consumers to extend their cooperation to save at least 25 percent energy and all commercial consumers to close all the shopping plazas and shops before 07:00 pm sharp and switch off. The domestic consumers are also requested to use Energy Savers lights instead of bulbs.
