Security tightened in Muzaffargarh

Mid Country Oil Refinery (PARCO), Kotadu Power Company (KAPCO), AES Lalpir power project, Thermal power stations, Muzaffargarh and other projects where foreigners were serving have been advised to keep a close liaison with police and law enforcing agencies for the protection of foreigners as well as locals.
Presiding over a meeting of All industrial units departments, DCO Muzaffargarh Dr Akhtar Nazir Waraich said that they should make arrangements for their security at personal level and they should keep vigilant eyes on the suspects and they must avoid strangers.
DCO said that Army would assist the civil administration in Muzaffargarh district which had already been declared a 'sensitive' area during Ashura-i-Muharram. DPO Muzaffargarh Maqsood-ul-Hassan said," we have beefed up the security in the area and proclaimed offenders and suspects were being taken into custody for the safety of general public," He said that Police was patrolling round the clock and metal detectors and throw-away gates were provided at imambargahs. while routes of mourners processions were being thoroughly checked. He said that we are on red alert since the bomb blast incidents occurred at Lahore and Landhi (Karachi). All vehicle owners have been asked to park their vehicle far away from the majalis and processions.
The meeting was attended by the EDOs, DOs, SDPOs, representatives of Taunsa Barrage modernisation project, KAPCO, PARCO, AES, Chenab Bridge, industrial units, Railway station, Thermal power stations etc.
