Authorities directed to set up family welfare centres

Chairman Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda), Shakil Durrani has directed the concerned authorities to establish family welfare centres at Wapda's hospitals and dispensaries in coordination with the Ministry of Population Welfare and respective provincial departments.
The order came on Wednesday when he visited the authority's Hospital Complex. He said Wapda was providing effective and efficient healthcare facilities to its employees and their families through 11 hospitals, 7 fortified dispensaries and 18 dispensaries across the country.
He added that his authority spent Rs 1.5 billion last year on different health-related projects. He also told the concerned authorities to undertake career restructuring for doctors and paramedics in order to make their services more attractive, especially in the remote areas. He urged upon the doctors to be more patient-friendly.
