AJK President and Prime Minister discuss reconstruction activities

President of Azad Kashmir Raja Muhammad Zulqarnain Khan held talks with Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan here at President House and discussed the reconstruction activities. The AJK premier briefed the President about the reconstruction and rehabilitation activities in areas hit by October 2005 earthquake.
The AJK President while expressing his satisfaction over the ongoing rehabilitation process said that reconstruction of the capital has begun. He said the construction process should be according to requirement of modern age. He said, "we have no lack of funds and more than Rs 23 billion is being provided for the reconstruction of the capital."
He said if more funds were needed these would be arranged. Chairman of Capital Development Authority Islamabad will visit Muzaffarabad to review the reconstruction work. The AJK government in collaboration with ERRA was setting up hospitals, educational institutions, roads, basic health centres, universities and other institutions.
The President recalled that the government of Pakistan, army and people acted quickly to carry out rescue and relief activities in NWFP and Azad Kashmir in October 2005. He said the problems of Mangla Dam affectees would be addressed. He had conveyed President Pervez Musharraf the reservations of the affectees, he added. The AJK President said Dhangali bridge would be built soon.
