Muharram processions: stickers to be issued for vehicles

The DIG Traffic Karachi has said that it will be mandatory for participants of mourning processions to get stickers to be displayed on wind screens of their vehicles in order to become part of processions taken out from Nishter Park to Hussainian Iranian Imam Bargah Kharadar on 8th 9th & 10th of Muharram-ul-Harram.
In an announcement the DIG said that stickers will be available from January 17, the 7th Muharram-ul-Harram from the office of DIGP Traffic, Security Branch, Police Headquarters Garden, Karachi. These stickers will be issued up to January 19, the 9th of Muharram-ul-Harram.
He made clear that no stickers will be issued to any vehicle except Ambulance or those belonging to scouts, social welfare organisations, sabils and emergency vehicles. He said original and photostat copy of driver's NIC, registration book of the vehicle, driver's driving license and letter of the owner/organiser will have to be provided to scrutiny committee for issuance of stickers.
