Egypt's GASC seeks wheat shipment

The Egyptian state's main wheat buying agency said Wednesday it wanted to buy 55,000 to 60,000 tonnes of US, French, Australian, Canadian, German, Argentine and/or Kazakhstan wheat for shipment February 5 to 20.
Tenders should reach Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) by 12 pm local time (1000 GMT) on Thursday and the results should come out around 4:30 pm local time (1430 GMT) on the same day.
Wheat bids should be free-on-board (FOB). The bidder should submit a separate freight tender. Said el-Hefny, vice chairman of GASC, said the wheat should be US North Pacific soft white wheat, US hard red wheat, US soft red winter wheat, French milling wheat, Australian standard white wheat, Australian hard wheat, German milling wheat, Canadian soft wheat, Argentine bread wheat or Kazakhstan milling wheat.
GASC was also seeking 30,000 to 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat, UK milling wheat (ukp or uks variety), or Syrian wheat. GASC was also seeking a minimum of 25,000 tonnes of in-country wheat of the same origins for delivery in March. Bids should be landed costs in Egyptian pounds, out-free zone, FOB track or rail. Bids are due at 12 pm local time on Thursday and results should come out around 4:30 pm Egypt is one of the world's leading wheat importers.
