19 Jan, 2008

A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Ahmed Khan and Justice Syed Pir Ali Shah on Friday ordered issuance of challan and possession of land to a petitioner. The bench was hearing a constitution petition filed by Shehzad, owner of Anjum Builders.
The petitioner maintained that he purchased four acres of land from Land Utilisation Department in 1995. The said land was cancelled for political reasons on ground that land was allotted to him at lower rates and a loss was caused to the government. The bench on Friday asked him to pay the differential amount or amount equivalent to loss caused to the state. The counsel for petitioner readily expressed willingness to do the same at which the bench allowing the petition directed the Sindh Government to issue a challan of differential amount and also to give land to him.
