Chairman of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Imran Khan on Friday said that if any political party tried to save the sinking boat of President Musharraf it would be tantamount to a suicide attack on opposition.
Taking to the agency, he urged all the political parties to keep national interest over personal gains. Imran Khan said that APDM can jointly work with Nawaz Sharif if he agrees to boycott the elections. He applauded the statement of General Ashfaq Kayani but said General Musharraf (Retd) is a major hurdle in the implementation of COAS statement. He said that along with public rallies, APDM will start a door to door movement for elections boycott.
Imran Khan claimed that Nawaz Sharif, after his arrival to Pakistan, had assured them that his party would boycott the polls but betrayed the alliance by contesting the election, which also caused an irreparable damage to the movement for restoration of independent judiciary.
He said that an individual is responsible for the present situation in the country as his only purpose is to save his chair and not the country. He demanded resignation of President Musharraf so that the country could be saved from any untoward situation.
He said that under the supervision of President Musharraf transparent elections are impossible, adding that the political parties participating in the elections also know it. Imran said the judges, who did not take oath under PCO, are still the judges of the superior courts and nobody is accepting the post-PCO judiciary.
