Punjab Police Inspector General Ahmed Nasim has said the computerisation of police station records with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will help improve investigations, trace out cases and eliminate crime in the province.
IG Nasim chaired a meeting on Friday to review the pace of work of the Public Safety Reforms Projects being executed in the Police Department with the bank.
Additional IG Dr Syed Azhar Hassan Nadeem told the meeting that in the first phase, the Public Safety Reforms Projects were being introduced in six districts, including Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Lahore, Chakwal and Multan. "All police stations and police offices of said districts were being inter-linked through computer network. Tracking system is also being installed in all vehicles of police stations of six districts to monitor the movement of vehicles," he added.
