Fazl no more part of MMA: Qazi

23 Jan, 2008

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman is no longer a part of the alliance, and added that he was contesting elections from the platform of his party Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) of which he is the head.
Addressing the Peshawar District Bar here on Tuesday, Qazi made it clear that Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman is not a candidate of MMA, adding he is not the spokesman for the Alliance. He clarified that Fazl is only representing JUI-F. He dubbed the forthcoming general elections in the country on February 18 as a farce and maintained that he did not see any light even after the elections.
He expressed his determination to continue the movement for restoration of democracy even after the elections. On this occasion, Qazi appealed to the people to take part in the movement and support his stand whole-heartedly. The MMA chief reiterated his demand for reinstatement of all the sacked judges.
