TDAP employees to boycott written test

Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) employees association (Punjab region) in its meeting here on Wednesday unanimously resolved to boycott written test and interviews of staff members falling in scale 1 to 16, being conducted on January 25.
The meeting, which was chaired by the Association's Punjab Chapter President Mian Khan and attended among others by senior Vice President Muhammad Altaf Hussain, Vice President Muhammad Nadeem, General Secretary Arman Azam Siddiqui, Finance Secretary Hashmat Ali Shah and Co-ordinator Asad Butt.
The meeting urged the government to fulfil its commitment made with the employees. The meeting drew the attention of the authorities towards the TDAP meeting held in Lahore on July 26, 2006 in which the chief executive while addressing the officers and the employees had pointed out that there would be no written examination/interview for the regular staff of scale 1 to 16 and that their service will continue uninterrupted as per the Service Rules.
The participants observed that under Article 37 of Ordinance No 2(1)/2006-Pub dated November 08, 2006 the employees were being deprived of even their just facilities pertaining to medical and residence etc.
The Association President Mian Khan on this occasion appealed to the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, TDAP Chief Executive and Federal Commerce Minister to look into their grievances and direct the authorities to take pragmatic steps to resolve their just demands.
