The Karachi Port handled 129,732 tonnes cargo including 85,786 tonnes import, 43,946 tonnes export cargo and 5,559 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 87,082 tonnes dry cargo including 73,300 tonnes general cargo; 5,411 tonnes Rapeseeds; 1,166 tonnes Rice; 7,205 tonnes Cement and 42,650 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Soon Fu, Harmony, Hansa Century and APL Amman sailed out to sea during the report period. Seven vessels viz Arnis, Kapitan Byankis, Flippa, YM Sun, Hyundai Highway, Aiud and MT Swat are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely Arnis, Flippa, African Pal, Free Destiny, YM Sun and Baltic Mariner expected to sail on Thursday, while two vessels viz MT Swat and Golina are expected to sail on Friday. Five vessels viz Daniela, Ltc Calvin P. Titus, Hanjin Qingdao, Tiger Creek and Pearl due to arrive on Thursday, while three ships namely Galaxy, Emirates Meru and OEL Trust are due to arrive on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 48,968 tonnes Diesel Oil; 6,070 tonnes Edible Oil; 4,367 tonnes Wheat; 2,212 tonnes Cement and 20,077 tonnes containerised cargo. Four ships namely MV Nedlloyd Asia, ACX Tsubaki, Gas Jawa and Elegant Victoria sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
A total of two ships namely John GR and APL Almandine carrying Wheat and Containers are currently at the outer anchorage. Seven vessels viz MV ACX Tsubaki, Nedlloyd Asia, Shadwan Island, Bunga Melati-7, Sirios, Elegant Victoria and Gas Jawa were occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Edible Oil, Wheat, Diesel Oil and Chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely APL Almandine, MSC Brianna and John GR due to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Fourteen vessels viz Qem Star, Theodsia, Southern Bull, Yick Shun, Gas Emperor, Norfolk Express, Al-Soor-II, Xin Hua Men, MSC Brianna, Ibn Sina, Kuwana, Silvia, Maersk Novazzano and Lucien carrying VCM, Wheat, Chemicals, Containers, Diesel Oil, and Priject Cargo are due to arrive.
