A three-member bench of Balochistan High Court (BHC) here on Friday disqualified the candidacy of a PML-Q candidate Gul Khan Marri for contesting the election from PB-23 Kohlu, Balochistan Assembly seat.
The bench headed by acting-chief justice BHC, Justice Ahmed Khan Lashari and other members including Justices Muhammad Nadir Khan and Mehta Kailash Nath Kohli disqualified the PML-Q candidate while disposing of an appeal of an independent candidate Zulfiqar Ali Marri who challenged the judgement of Balochistan Election Tribunal, which allowed the PML-Q candidate to go ahead for contesting the elections.
The appellant pleaded that PML-Q candidate Gul Khan Marri had served as government servant in Levies Force and two years tenure of his resignation has not been completed.
