NAB arrests Customs official on corruption charges

National Accountability Bureau (Sindh) has arrested Syed Hamid Umer, Principal Appraiser Customs on the charges of corruption and corrupt practice. He was involved in accumulation of assets and living beyond means disproportionate to his known sources of his income.
According to details, the accused was involved in lacs of rupees corruption during the period of his service, he was posted in Custom House Karachi. Syed Hamid Umer, who joined the service in 1984, was produced before Administrative Judge of Accountability Courts Karachi Syed Aal-e-Maqbool Rizvi and got the remand of 15 days in NAB custody.
