Workshops on population census begins

Regional sensitisation workshops on population census will be held from January 26 to March 4 in the country. "The sensitisation workshops will be held at District Council halls at Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sibi, Quetta, Hyderabad, Karachi, Abbotabad, and Peshawar from January 26 to March 4, Population Census sources told APP.
They said that Population Census Organisation in collaboration with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNEFIM) is organising one-day orientation workshops to sensitise the Census District Officers (CDOs) and other government functionaries at different venues all over the country in connection with the forthcoming Census to be held in October.
They said the government functionaries, including EDOs (edu), District Officers (Coord), Cantonment Executive Officers, Deputy District Officers (Revenue) and Deputy District Officers (education) will participate in the workshops.
Senior officers of Population Census Organisation and experts from UNIFEM will present their papers on the different issues of census and put forward their recommendations at the conclusion of the workshop, they remarked.
They also said that recommendations of the workshops would provide input to the Population Census Organisation in conducting the next census efficiently and transparently.
