PPP demands polls under army supervision

The President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Human Rights (HR) Wing Punjab, Saleemur Rehman Mayo has pressed demand for holding of elections under the supervision of the army. Addressing a meeting of the PPP's HR Wing he said Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was misusing public funds and governments machinery for election campaign of his party.
He strongly condemned the death of Allah Baksh killed in the police custody at Nawa Shehr police station, Kabirwala and denounced the brutal action of law enforcing agency to torture an innocent person to death. He demanded that murder case should be registered against the culprits. Further, he said that the PPP would organise different events on January 29 in Punjab to pay tributes to its late Chairperson, Benazir Bhutto while her Chehlum would be held on February 7.
On behalf of the PPP, HR Wing Punjab decided by a resolution, Mayo demanded immediate release of Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan and other party leaders.
Mirza Nazir Baig, Begum Zubaida Khokhar, Bushra Naqvi, Malik Saeed Akhtar and Sarwar Bukhari were also present in the meeting. Meanwhile, the HR Punjab shuffled its body and made some new appointments.
As per the move, Ahman Kamran Magsi was appointed as the deputy secretary, Umar Kamal Mirza as deputy secretary information and M Ahmad Raja as vice president.
In Multan Wing, Dr R Wahid was appointed as the general secretary, Hashim Awan as vice president, Naeem Khan as senior vice president, Chaudhry Abdul Shakoor as president and Mehr Imran Utra, general secretary of HR Wing Kabirwala tehsil.
