FAS to organise flower arrangement workshops

The Floral Art Society (FAS) is organising monthly flower arrangement workshops for women interested in floral art shows to introduce the skill of floral arrangements that could bring international acclamation for the country.
The workshops include training of various techniques regarding the subject and lectures of renowned artists to share their innovative ideas. The FAS holds regular shows within the country that have largely developed interest among the flower-lovers about the art of arrangement through different techniques, the FAS President, Asma Ansari told APP. The recently organised workshop included the lecture of renowned artist and calligrapher, Rasheed Butt, which highlighted various techniques of "Collage" as an additional technique in dry flower decors.
Reviewing the history of floral and geometrical patterns associated with calligraphic style, the artist discussed the arts of Mughal era and stressed to promote those skills in young generation. "Flowers are the gift of the nature and symbol of love and such workshops provide opportunities to enhance women's professional skills in the field," said the Executive Member, Samina Shahid Rafi.
