Traffic umbrella project inaugurated

A 'traffic umbrella project' has been inaugurated in the city, a statement on Sunday said. According to the statement the project pertains to road traffic safety issues and has been initiated by the Citizen Council for Human Rights.
Under this project at every intersection of traffic the personnel on duty would be provided shade in the form of Traffic Umbrella, Folding Chairs, Water Coolers for their comfort and ease.
Through this arrangement, not only for the traffic personnel but other peoples including ladies, children etc passing through various roads shall be benefited, the statement added.
Niaz Ahmad Siddiqui, CCPO, Karachi was the chief guest at this ceremony.
Siddiqui said that the Citizen Council for Human Rights has taken a good step towards the solution of chronic problems of the growing traffic for traffic controlling personnel.
They were facing great inconvenience in performing their duties and now would be able to do it quite comfortably.
The Council's chief organiser, Faisal Adam, while addressing the ceremony said that the aim of CCHR is to solve the traffic problems on priority basis.
For this very purpose, the road traffic safety Projects have been implemented.
The traffic umbrella project is a part of this. In addition to this, Disaster Management Committee's programme has already been started.
