Tribunal summons PPP leaders, rejects pleas

Former justice Dr Ghous Muhammad, head of the October 18 Tribunal of Inquiry on Monday summoned PPP leaders Agha Siraj Durrani and Dr Zulfiqar Mirza rejecting their pleas to appear and deposed some time later.
This Tribunal has nothing to do with the elections or else, the head of the tribunal observed. The tribunal ordered repeat of process to the PPP leader Agha Siraj Durrani summoned as witness. It also ordered that if they fail to comply coercive process should be adopted for securing his attendance on February 04.
In case of another PPP leader, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, court was told by Liaison Officer DIG Niaz Khoso that process server has talked with Dr Mirza but as Process Server was ill, he was unable to appear and submit his report. The tribunal asked Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Arshad Lodhi to ensure appearance of process server on February 4 to submit a report about serving of summons upon Dr Mirza.
