British defence team arrives

29 Jan, 2008

A 14-member British defence delegation, led by UK Permanent Under Secretary Bill Jeffery, arrived here on Monday on a 4-day official visit, a defence ministry official said. The delegation would attend plenary session of the Pakistan-Britain Defence Cooperation Forum (DCF) from January 29-30, he said.
The UK defence delegation's visit would also help expand and boost defence cooperation between the two countries, a statement from the Defence Ministry said.
The delegation would also call on Minister for Defence and Defence Production Sayed Salim Abbas Jilani, the defence secretary, the defence production secretary, and senior military and defence officials of Pakistan. The delegation arrives at a time when President Pervez Musharraf is scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in London later today.
