Chashma power station starts functioning today

Work on the restoration of Chashma hydropower station is nearing completion, and the station will start generating electricity by Thursday evening. The lower floor of the Chashma hydropower station got flooded due to some technical problem in Unit No 3, which was shut down for annual maintenance, according to a Wapda press release issued here on Wednesday.
The said problem resulted in tripping of all six units operating at the time and supplying 87 MW power. Restoration work which was started immediately will be completed on Thursday, and the station will start functioning normally, the release added.
