Chairman of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) election monitoring cell Senator Latif Khousa on Thursday sought deployment of army personnel outside the polling stations on the election day to ensure peace and to get maximum turnout.
Khosa, speaking at a news conference here, said such deployment was necessary in view of the recent wave of suicide bombings targeting political rallies, religious congregations, police personnel and others. He pointed out that army deployment had been greatly helpful in peaceful observance of Ashura.
