Political parties urged to let students focus on education

02 Feb, 2008

People here have urged the political parties that they should refrain from disrupting peace and polluting the environment of educational institutions by involving the student community in political activities for their interest.
Social circles here said that after a very long time the deteriorated atmosphere of educational institutions was controlled after hectic efforts as a result of which the students were fully concentrating on their studies and showing excellent results.
They have called upon the student community that they should desist from indulging in political activities for the larger national interests, and abstain from becoming plaything in the hands of politicians. It has been observed that some political elements are trying to use student community as shield against the government for attaining personal gains and to create unrest in the country, these circles said.
The political scenario has become entirely different as compared to previous political activities of the country, as a result of which the country is passing through a critical phase and it is high time that political leaders focus their attention on fast approaching elections because the election is the only mode of resolving the problems confronting the country, they said.
It is a vivid fact that Pakistan is facing multifarious problems like extremism, terrorism and suicide bombing menace but it is very unfortunate that the political parties are ignoring national interests for a common approach on national issues. Resultantly, anti-state activities have become order of the day, posing threat to the solidarity of the country, they said.
At this grave situation adoption of common approach on national issues has become more imperative for foiling the propaganda of anti-state elements and curbing the direct and indirect interference in internal affairs of Pakistan.
The leaders of political parties should avoid depending on foreign observers and other concerned and try to give up the politics of opposition for the sake of opposition and try to discuss the issues with the government for the redressal of their grievances, they added.
