The head clerk of Divisional Forest Office was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption personnel while taking bribe. A retired staffer Zakriya Zahid of the said office had filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption department that the head clerk Akhtar Ali had demanded bribe to prepare his pension documents.
He had already extorted Rs 5,000 from him and was demanding Rs 2,000 more, he said. He was told to deliver the amount to the accused, so he would be caught while taking the money. Anti-Corruption staff along with the area magistrate in a 'raid' arrested the accused as he was taking the bribe.
