03 Feb, 2008

Co-chairman of Pakistan People's Party Asif Ali Zardari has condemned the continuous detention of PPP Tharparker leaders Mohammad Khan Lund, Amara Udani, A D Bajeer and others for over a month and warned the government to keep their hands off the innocent PPP workers and never consider them an easy target for victimisation.
In a press statement issued here Saturday, the PPP Co-Chairman said that the 'Gorbachevs' of Pakistan and their puppets think that they can weaken Pakistan through raising private militias and targeting the patriotic PPP workers but their nefarious designs would soon be foiled.
The PPP Co-Chairman also condemned the armed attack on PPP candidates in Tharparker, Dadu and elsewhere but added that those who want to flee from the elections would not be allowed to succeed through peaceful policy of his party.
Asif Zardari said that PPP workers are like his brothers, sisters and children and all the 'vultures' who are targeting them anywhere in Pakistan would have to face the music of law of the land once democracy is restored and law is able to take its course.
