Reading halls in Islamabad soon

Reading halls are being set up in every sector to provide reading facilities to the residents of the capital at their doorsteps. Talking to APP here on Saturday.
National Libraries of Pakistan (NLP) Director General Chaudhry Muhammad Nazir said the NLP had already signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Capital Development Authority for setting up reading halls in the capital.
He said according to the MoU the Authority would not only construct halls in every sector but also provide furniture. NLP would provide all reading materials like newspapers, magazines, journals and books.
The DG said that CDA had already constructed halls in Sectors G-7, G-8, G-11 and I-8 while work was underway in other sectors to set up the halls. The halls would start function soon, he added. He said those measures would not only quench the thirst of readers of all age groups but also help promote reading culture in the capital.
He said NLP was taking pragmatic measures to enhance reading habit and plan was also on the anvil to start mobile library for the residents of outskirts of the capital.
