Deposed Judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC), Khawaja Muhammad Sharif and Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman will address the LHC Bar Association (LHCBA) on February 06. "Both the judges have accepted the invitation", said the president, LHCBA, Eshan Bohn while talking to the newsmen.
He asked the bar members to accord warm welcome to the judges and attend the meeting to hear the views of guest speakers. Bohn said lawyers are struggling for the independence of judiciary and reinstatement of the deposed judges, hence, bar members should accord rousing reception to the deposed judges.
'We believe in democracy and protection of fundamental rights and the government should also allow the judges to move freely', he said. The LHCBA president also said government is committing gross violation of law and constitution by putting restrictions on the movement of the deposed Chief Justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and his family and demanded his immediate release.
