Two percent rise in CFS investment

The CFS investment at Karachi share market increased by 2 percent to Rs 52 billion on the last day of the outgoing week as compared to previous Rs 51 billion. However, the CFS rate went down by 11 bps to 10.80 percent on Friday against 10.91 percent on the same day previous week.
The top 5 scrips by investment were NBP, AHSL, POL, PPL and OGDC which cumulatively contributed 43 percent (Rs 22 billion) to the total investment amount.
Total open interest at the futures counter settled 33 percent lower on weekly basis and reached at Rs 7.97 billion compared to Rs 11.93 billion a week earlier. Spreads remained volatile throughout the week and ranged between 2.37 percent and 5.22 percent, settling at 2.37 percent on Friday. NBP, PPL, POL, OGDC and MCB Bank contributed Rs 4.5 billion (57 percent) to the outstanding open interest on Friday. Average futures volumes dropped significantly from 63 million shares to 23 million shares, a 65 percent decline on week-on-week basis.
