APHC to organise seminar on Kashmir Solidarity Day

04 Feb, 2008

In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) will organise a seminar on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day on Tuesday, at its headquarters in Srinagar. Decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the APHC, KMS reported. The title of the seminar is "South Asia's future hinges on resolution of Kashmir issue".
The people and the government of Pakistan observe February 5, every year, as Kashmir Solidarity Day to express solidarity with Kashmiris in their just struggle to achieving their fundamental right of self-determination. Meanwhile, the APHC acting Chairman Maulana Abbas Ansari has asked the pro-freedom organisations and leaders to chalk out a joint programme in consultation with each other for commemorating the 24th martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, who was hanged in Delhi's Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984.
Despite Kashmiris' repeated pleas to Indian government to shift remains of the martyred leader to his ancestral land, New Delhi has refused to heed such calls.
