Gang of car lifters busted, four held

Anti-Vehicles Lifting Staff have busted a gang of car lifters and arrested its four members and seized five cars worth lakh of rupees from them. The accused persons have confessed to 19 such incidents in various parts of the provincial metropolis during preliminary interrogation.
As per details, Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal, directed DIG Investigation Tassaduq Hussain to take effective measures against the gangs involved in car lifting and a special team was constituted under the supervision of SP CRO Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh comprising DSP Anti Vehicles Lifting staff and other officials which collected the particulars of Gulshad Ahmed Khan gang and arrested its four members on a tip-off.
The modus operandi of these car lifters was that they used to lift cars parked outside the houses and markets with the help of master key and transported them to tribal area via motorway. The areas in which these criminals committed crime include Modal Town, Factory Area, Johar Town, Shafiqabad, Islampura, Lower Mall, Ravi Road, Gulshan Ravi and Old Anarkali.
Police recovered five cars as well as instruments of car stealing from their possession. The arrested were identified as ringleader Gulshad Ahmed Khan, Haji Mahajarean, Nazir Ahmed and Tariq Mehmood alias Babar.
