Narcotics worth over Rs 60 million seized

In its ongoing anti-narcotic campaign the Excise Department has recovered huge quantity of narcotics and also arrested five culprits involved in drug trafficking.
According to Director General Excise and Taxation, Muhammad Asif Marghoob Siddiqui, the officials of Directorate of Excise & Taxation Hyderabad conducted a successful raid at Kotri Naka and recovered six kg heroin, worth over Rs 60 million in the international underground world. Giving details the DG Excise said that a special checking squad arrested two persons Shah Muhammad alias Shahoo and Nazeer and lodged FIR against them.
Meanwhile, officials of Excise & Taxation, District East Karachi raided a narcotic den near Chandni Chowk, Zia Colony Korangi, seized over five Kg charas and arrested accused Asif alias Rangilbhai s/o Shah Muhammad and registered a case against him.
In another operation, Excise Inspector Waseem Khawaja of Divisional Intelligence Office, Karachi, along with other officials raided a den in Shumaila Garden, Junejo Town, Manzoor Colony from 440 gram charas was seized along with the arrest of one Hakim Ali.
The District West Excise staff recovered 30 litre illicit poisonous liquor and accused Muhammad lrfan s/o Lal Khan was arrested. The Provincial Minister Excise has directed the officials to further gear up the drive against narcotic menace to make the Province drug free.
