The Bomb Disposal Squad has defused a powerful roadside bomb weighing 16 kilogram at the jurisdiction of Budaber police station, police said here Monday. The bomb was planted at Jangali check-post on Indus Highway in the suburban area of Budaber, bordering with FR Derra Adamkhel, SHO Riazul Islam told reporters.
The explosive device had been concealed in a shopping bag on the Indus Highway. The high intensity bomb would bring massive loss to life and properties if it exploded, he added.
Riazul Islam, Station House Officer Budabar police station told reporters that police immediately called the bomb disposal squad after receiving information in this regard. He said that investigation has been started and the criminals behind it would soon be brought to justice.
