Attempt to steal transformer foiled

The staffers of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) Jehangira Sub-Division Staff Wednesday foiled an attempt of theft of transformer at village Mandokhel Banda, District Nowshera. With the help of locals and the staffers of the company not only succeeded in taking into possession of the transformer, but also take the vehicle of the alleged thieves in their custody.
According to reports, some unknown thieves in village Mandokhel Banda tried to steal 50 KVA transformer after removing its links and were taking it away in their vehicle Suzuki Pickup No FDD-5844.
The locals of the area immediately informed the concerned Pesco officials who rushed to the site and with the co-operation of the people foiled the attempt of theft of transformer. However, the alleged accused made their escape good. An FIR of the incident had been registered with Akora Khattak Police Station.
The officials of the company had requested people to continue extend their co-operation in this regard to foil such incidents in future too. They advised people to be more vigilant and active and if they see any suspicious person, may inform the Pesco officials immediately or nearest police station. Pesco installations are national assets and the company can protect them only with the public co-operation in smooth and uninterrupted power supply to the consumers.
