PPP workers vow to carry forward Benazir's message

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) remembering its martyr leader Benazir Bhutto held a number of functions on 'Chehlum' in the capital city of Punjab here on Thursday. Prayers for the eternal soul of martyr leader who lost her life in a suicide attempt in Rawalpindi on December 27,2007 were offered.
Zealous party workers and leaders who remembered Benazir passionately were seen in state of tears in the Chehlum ceremonies in the city during the day. The city which was the scene of founding of platform of PPPP by late party chairman Zulifkar Ali Bhutto in annals of history were seen remembering her martyr daughter with same love which was accorded to her father decades ago.
Leaders of the party while offering prayers for the departed leader's soul pledged to take forward message of supremacy of democracy and safeguarding of masses rights and country of their leader on the occasion.
The main function of Chehlum of Benazir Bhutto was held in 'Bilawal House' where Maulana Yusuf Awan led the 'Dua prayers'. Besides large number of workers Mian Jehangir Advocate, Haji Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan, Qurban Khoso, Malik Saif-ul-Maluk, Chaudhry Aslam Gill, former justice Taalat Yakub, Iltaf Qureshi, Atiq Adnan, Munir Ahmed Khan,,Saghira Islam, Faiza Malik, Abdul Qadir Shaheen, Suhail Malik, Nargis Khan, Rao Shujaat, Syed Hasnaat Shah, Salim Mogul, Basharat Sidiqui, Waqar-ul-Mulk, Chaudhry Asif Ashraf Naaz participated in the Dua ceremony.
In other functions in the city held on Chehlum of late Benazir Bhutto, Dua was offered at the party's main election office of NA-127. Dua prayers were also held at functions arranged by MPA candidates Zulifqar Ali Badr and Aslam Gara. Dua at 'Aza Khana Zainab' Chohan Road, Islam Pura was addressed by Zakira Kaneez Fatima.
