Some unknown persons have caused ruptures in the Sui-Karachi 20" diameter gas pipeline by an explosive device. However, the supply of gas to Karachi would not be affected. Police said the explosive material was planted at the Sui-Karachi gas pipeline at Goth Hajano area.
Which blew off 6/8 feet piece of the pipeline, leaving a ditch at the place of occurrence, a private TV channel reported. Following the incident, the police cordoned off the area, saying that the investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, Tandori, Kandhkot, Kashmore and the surrounding areas gas supply has been hit by the explosion, but the gas supply to Karachi kept flowing through an alternative pipeline. Officials said that a team from Shikarpur has been rushed for the repairs of the damaged pipeline.
