British oil and gas firm Cairn Energy Plc will conduct further exploration work in Magnama off Bangladesh in the Bay of Bengal after it failed to find gas, a senior government official said on Sunday.
Cairn would conduct 3D seismic surveys in an exploration well at the Magnama structure in the Bay of Bengal, 60 km (37 miles) south of the port of Chittagong, said Mohammad Mohsin, secretary for energy and mineral resources at the power, energy and mineral resources ministry.
