Renovation of Minar-e-Pakistan's gardens completed

Lahore district government is planning to divert traffic from the Circular Road between Badshai Mosque and Minar-e-Pakistan and intended to build a public park at the place. Nazim City District Government of Lahore (CDGL), Nazim Mian Amar Mahmood, talking to media personnel, revealed this on Tuesday during an opening ceremony of two renovated parks in Minar-e-Pakistan.
The parks were refurbished under the supervision of army, he said, adding, "As a goodwill gesture to the people of Lahore, the army has taken the assignment of renovating the gardens at a cost of Rs 10.26 million."
Furthermore, he cited, "the CDGL is making a plan to divert the heavy traffic from a portion of the Circular Road and restructure the Badami Bagh Bus Stand to the international level." Lahore Garrison Commander GOC Major-General Shaukat Sultan said Minar-e-Pakistan was a vital historical monument, adding that the army had built a new plantation, fountains and artificial waterfalls.
